Configuring MS Outlook for eMail

Usually, how to configure your email client application such as MS Outlook and Outlook Express will be shown on manuals which are provided by your ISP (Internet Service Provider). Here is a general description about how to configure MS outlook.

1. Launch MS Outlook
2. Click Tools then Accounts
   Note: If you selected the "Corporate or Workgroup" option rather than "Internet Only" while installing Outlook, you will see "Services" rather than "Accounts" under the Tools menu.
3. Click Add then Mail ;
4. Type your full name in the Display name field then click Next. This is the name that will appear in the From: field when you send Email to others;
5. Type your new Email address in the Email address field, then click Next ;
6. Select POP3 as the incoming mail server type;
7. Input ***.***.com which is your ISP's POP3 into the incoming mail server field;
8. Input "your" ISP's smtp into the outgoing mail server field. Then click next;
9. Type your full Email address (username@domain.com) in the Account Name field ;
10. Enter your email account password (which is cAsE sEnSiTiVe). The new Email account password is available from your office administrator. When entered, the password is displayed as a series of asterisks (****), check the box if you want your password to be saved;
11. Ensure that the Secure Password Authentication box is UNCHECKED, and click Next ;
12. Click Finish;
13. Click Close to close the Internet Accounts window ;
14. Click Tools --> Accounts ;
15. Click the account you just created, then click the Properties button ;
16. Click the Servers tab;
17. Ensure that there is no check besides My server requires authentication;
18. Click Apply, then OK to close the properties window. The Internet Accounts window will reappear;
19. From the Internet Accounts window, click on your newly created Email account, the account will be highlighted;
20. With your new Email address selected. click on Set As Default. Your Email address is now your default mail account;
21. Click OK to exit the Internet Accounts window, your Email conversion is complete.
